Malayalam Font Installation for Browsers

• Take mozilla web browser

• Type www.google.com

• Type matweb.ttf
  

• Save all Malayalam fonts into your system , in default it will save into your home directory

• Create a folder named .fonts in to your home directory
  

• Copy all saved fonts and paste into .fonts folder

• Open root terminal

• Type fc-cache
  

• Now fonts are installed, close all areary opened browsers

SAMSUNG ML-1640 PRINTER INSTALLATION

LINUX ല്‍ PRINTER INSTALL ചെയ്യാന്‍ താഴെ പറയുന്ന STEPS ചെയ്യുക.
1. Root ആയി login ചെയ്യുക
2. Samsung Printer Driver CD യില്‍ ഉള്ള Linux എന്ന folder Desktop ല്‍ Paste ചെയ്യുക
3. Linux folder open ചെയ്തതിനു ശേഷം അതിലെ install.sh എന്ന file നു execute permission നല്കുക.(right click on install.sh, properties-permissions-tick execute)
4) Linux folderല്‍ right clickചെയ്തതിനു ശേഷം open terminal സെലക്റ്റ് ചെയ്യുക.

5) ./install.sh എന്ന് ടൈപ്പ് ചെയ്തതിനു ശേഷം enter key അമര്ത്തുക

6) തുടര്ന്നു വരുന്ന നിര്ദ്ദേശങ്ങളില് Enter key 2 തവണ അമര്ത്തുക

7) Printers ന്റെ ലിസ്റ്റില് നിന്നും ML-1640 spl2 select ചെയ്ത് copy എടുക്കുക.

8) Terminal window യില് paste ചെയ്യുക, enter key അമര്ത്തുക.

9) Install finished എന്ന നിര്ദ്ദേശം വന്നതിനു ശേഷം window close ചെയ്യുക.

10) നിങ്ങളുടെ Printer install ആയിക്കഴി‌‌‌‌‍‍ഞ്ഞു

FLASH PLAYER FOR LINUX

• IT@School GNU/Linux ല്‍ ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ വീഡിയോ ഫയലുകള്‍ കാണുന്നതിനായി install missing plugin എന്ന നിര്‍ ദ്ദേശം കാണാം. എന്നാല്‍ ഇത് ഇന്‍സ്റ്റാള്‍ ചെയ്താലും സാധാരണയായി വീഡിയോകള്‍ കാണാന്‍ കഴിയാറില്ല.ഈപ്രശ്നം പരിഹരിക്കുന്നതിനായി ഇവിടെ ക്ലിക്ക് ചെയ്താല്‍ flash-plugin ഉം ഇവിടെ ക്ലിക്ക് ചെയ്താല്‍ mozilla-plugin ഉം ഡൌണ്‍ലോഡ് ചെയ്യാം. ഡൌണ്‍ലോഡ് ചെയ്ത് കിട്ടുന്ന deb file കളില്‍ right clickചെയ്ത് open with Gdebi package installer എന്ന option ല്‍ click ചെയ്യുക.. install packages എന്ന option click ചെയ്യുക.രണ്ട് plugin കളും install ചെയ്ത ശേഷം restart ചെയ്യുക.
